3 Ingredient Cookies

3 Ingredient Cookies by prattyandfood.wordpress.com

You can also call them Buttery Heavenliness, but I fondly refer to them as ‘3 am cookies’ as they can be whipped up at any time of the day. And the first time I tried these, take no guess, it was 3 am in the morning.

I wasn’t ‘into baking’ back then; I was merely dipping my toes into the water out of curiosity. This was one of the first baked goods to come out of my newly-bought round oven in 2016.

RECIPE (makes: 22)

2 1/2c all purpose flour

1/2c sugar, powdered

3/4c butter (or a combination of vegetable/olive/canola oil AND butter)

  • Cream the butter and sugar till it’s light and a tad fluffy. Add the flour to it in portions and mix well.
  • The mixture will tend to be crumbly and not come together as a proper dough as there’s no binding agent such as eggs.
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F/200°C.
  • Prepare your baking tray by lightly greasing it or use parchment paper.
  • Scoop out the cookie mixture and shape each by hand before placing it on the tray. You can lightly press them with a fork to create the lined design.
  • Place each shaped cookie an inch apart from each other.
  • Bake for 10 mins.

Enjoy! You’ll love the texture.

Suggestion: If you want the cookies to rise and expand add 1/5 tsp baking powder and 1/5 tsp baking soda to the flour before incorporating it into the mixture.
